Yuga Labs' TwelveFold auction ends today |
![]() |
Ordinals are the hottest thing that's come out of Bitcoin in quite some time. So hot, that even Yuga Labs couldn't resist getting involved... As we reported last week, the creators behind the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club collection announced their new NFT project called TwelveFold. It's a limited collection of 300 generative pieces that will be inscribed onto satoshis on the Bitcoin blockchain. But at the time, they hadn't yet revealed the auction date and how it would go down. Well guess what... The auction is now live! Not to worry though, it doesn't close until later today so you've still got time to put your bids in. But here's the deal: Auction results are going be based on the last block completed before 3pm PT. That means, if the last block gets done at, say, 2:57pm PT, any bids in the next block won't count, even if they were submitted before the deadline. So, it's probably a good idea to get your bids in early, because you never know when that final block will be mined. As for the auction itself, a total of 288 TwelveFold ordinal inscriptions will be up for grabs. The remaining 12 TwelveFold inscriptions will be held back for contributors, donations, and philanthropic efforts. How to participate If you want to get in on the action, you'll need a couple of Bitcoin wallet addresses. It's best to have one that's Taproot-enabled and self-custodied so you can receive an inscription. Need some help? Check out this handy guide from Sparrow Wallet. In terms of the two addresses you'll need:

Is Binance US running an unregistered securities exchange? |
![]() |
Someone at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) doesn't think Binance.US is on the up and up... At a bankruptcy hearing for Voyager Digital, a failed crypto lending firm, SEC attorney William Uptegrove said staff at the organization "believes that Binance US is operating an unregistered securities exchange in the United States." Having said that, he also said that these thoughts may not reflect the views of the five head commissioners of the SEC and that there's no confirmed enforcement actions against Binance US...as of yet. It's important to understand that this conclusion from Uptegrove didn't come out of nowhere... In the same bankruptcy hearing, there was debate on whether or not the assets of Voyager should be sold to Binance US. The SEC has had a general objection to the sale but faced pushback from the presiding judge in the case. And what does Binance have to say about all of this? Well naturally, they came out in defense of their own company saying "It is regrettable that an SEC staff member would make allegations, that Binance US and platforms like ours are operating an unregistered exchange, without specifying the assets listed on our exchange that the SEC considers to be securities." Regardless of the views the SEC may have on Binance US, 97% of Voyager's creditors have supported a proposal to sell its assets to the crypto exchange as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring plan. |
